STOCKHOLM. The biggest international cardiology meeting. The European Society of Cardiology is the most awaited moment of the year for anyone who has to do with heart and cardiovascular system. The 2010 edition is taking place in Stockholm and the main issue of the event is the coronary artery disease. “From genes to outcome” , this is the name chosen to represent the event that last year in Barcelona collected 32 thousand registered participants and 750 journalists, which made it the world’s largest medical conference. A success that this year’s edition must at least replicate. The coronary artery disease is still today the main cause of death in the developed world. What is clear from this year’s program is how the community medicine developments have been translated into progress from the clinical point of view, both from the standpoint of early diagnosis and the treatment. Soon after the opening ceremony of the congress ESC Grant 2010 young cardiologist winners have been awarded.
